1. Had just one death scene in his entire film career
Considering the fact that he was so full of life and bubbling with energy all the time, it doesn't come as a surprise that the only film Dev Anand had a death scene in, was Guide.

2. Gave a break to Sanjay Dutt's first wife

Dev Anand gave a break to newcomer Richa Sharma from America in Hum Naujawan.
She later went on to marry Sanjay Dutt.

4. Dev Anand's extended filmi family

Dev Anand had two brothers -- Chetan and Vijay Anand and one sister Sheila Kanta, who was journalist.
Sheel Kanta married a doctor -- Kulbhushan Kapur -- and gave birth to son Shekhar Kapur and two daughters, Neelu and Aruna.
Neelu married actor Navin Nischol, and Aruna married Balraj Sahin's son Parikshat Sahni.

5. Kalpana Karthik was his wife's screen name

Dev Anand married Christian actress Mona Singh in 1954.
She changed her name to Kalpana Karthik to work in films. The couple turned parents in 1956 when their son Suneil Anand was born.

6. Formed a political party

Dev Anand took keen interest in politics. He formed a party called National Party of India which he later disbanded.

7. Actively campaigned against Indira Gandhi in Lok Sabha

Dev Anand was among the group of film personalities who stood up to the Internal emergency imposed by then Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi.
In 1977, he actively campaigned against her with his supporters in the Lok Sabha.

8. Acted opposite Padmini Kolhapure at 60

In 1983, he acted along side Padmini Kolhapure in Swami Dada at 60.
He looked younger than his years and shared good onscreen chemistry with the actress.

9. His unreleased films

Two of his films Kahin Aur Chal (1968) and a multistarrer Ek Do Teen Chaar (1980) remained unreleased till date.

10. First meeting with Gregory Peck

Dev Anand and Suraiya met Gregory Peck for the first time at Mumbai's Willingdon Club, after the Filmfare Awards in 1954.
Peck had a stopover in the city from a schedule at Sri Lanka after shooting for Purple Plane.
