After John Abraham [ Images ] and Hrithik Roshan [ Images ], it is Aamir Khan's [ Images ] turn to play the baddie in Yash Raj's superhit franchise Dhoom.

Both Abhishek Bachchan [ Images ] and Uday Chopra [ Images ] will reprise their roles of Jai Dixit and Ali.

It is Aamir's second film with the banner after Fanaa [ Images ], where he played a terrorist.

Produced by Aditya Chopra [ Images ] and written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, Dhoom 3 will begin shooting end of this year and is slated for a 2012 Christmas release. Acharya has also written and directed Tashan.

"It is indeed a pleasure to be working with Yashraj once again. Dhoom is a great franchise, mostentertaining and full of fun. Everytime I hear the theme tune of Dhoom it brings a swing to my step," Aamir said in a statement.

The film's producer Yash Chopra [ Images ] said, "I am terribly excited with what an actor like Aamir Khan will bring to Dhoom franchise with his unique star power and level of performance."
