Ever since director Shankar announced his new film, Robot that was renamed Endhiran -- with Rajnikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the film has made news.

Earlier, the film was to be produced by London-based Aingaran Films International (P) Ltd. Now, a press release from Sun TV Network Ltd -- one of India's largest entertainment conglomerate -- says that the movie division of Sun Pictures will produce Endhiran.

'This project promises to be the first of its kind in terms of computer graphics, special effects and stunt sequences. Top notch technicians from Hollywood are being roped in for this movie, making this project truly global,' states the press release.

Sun Pictures made a splash in the Tamil film industry by producing Kadhalil Vizhundhein starring Nakul, of Boys fame, and Sunaina. With aggressive marketing, the film became an unprecedented hit. The success of their second film Thenavattu shows that with aggressive marketing, even a typical masala film can become a hit.

Sun Pictures officially announced their involvement in Endhiran yesterday. Present on the occasion were Rajnikant, Shankar, Sun TV Network Limited chairman and managing director Kalanithi Maran, Sun Pictures chief operating officer Hansraj Saxena and the film's cinematographer Rathnavel.

"This is a big moment for Sun Pictures, as we feel this will be India's biggest movie," says Maran. "We are very happy and proud to be associated with superstar Rajinikanth, Shankar and A R Rahman. With this, Sun Pictures will scale greater heights internationally."

"Working with Rajnikant is a pleasure," Shankar added. "There is high expectation from this project and by joining hands with Sun TV, the hugeness of the movie will be even more."

"This is India's biggest movie and I am very happy and honoured to work with Sun Pictures and Kalanithi Maran," Rajni said.

Endhiran seems to be even bigger than Sivaji, Rajni's earlier release with Shankar and RahmanIt will be released simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi by the end of next year.
