The latest updates from the Tamil film industry.

Post-production work is on in full swing for superstar Rajinikanth’s Kabali. While there is no official confirmation on a release date, fans are thrilled with rumours that the teaser will be out later this month.

National award-winning editor KL Praveen’s recent tweet that he was busy with the film’s editing seems to have sparked off this rumour.

Producer Kalaipuli S Thanu had earlier revealed that the shooting was wrapped up and they hope to release the teaser in March.

Directed by Pa Ranjith of Madras fame, Rajinikanth will be seen as an ageing don in the film, while Bollywood actress Radhika Apte will play his wife. The first look poster and other movie stills are already rocking the social media.

Ajith fans celebrate his son’s birthday

Ajith’s one-year-old son Aadvik, fondly called ‘Kutty Thala’ by his fans, is already a huge star. He turned one on March 2 and fans went all out to celebrate the occasion.

Posters and banners were put up, cakes were cut and biryani was distributed. Social media was abuzz with birthday wishes for the little one.

Meanwhile, Ajith and his family recently returned from a one-month long vacation in London. The actor is recuperating after a major knee surgery and is expected to start work in April.

His next film is once again with Siruthai Siva, who will be directing him for the third time, after the super success of Veeram and Vedalam.
