The latest updates from the Malayalam film industry.

Mohanlal

Mohanlal begins his latest blog, titled God's letter, mentioning neurosurgeon Paul Kalanithi's memoir When Breath Becomes Air, written after he was diagnosed with cancer.

'It was while reading the book that I started thinking about how we spend our time in our life. I wrote a letter to the God and I got a reply from him,' writes Mohanlal.

God asks him, in the letter, how do humans spend their days when they are alive? How many people work really hard, thinking that their life on earth can be over any moment?

Instead, almost everyone wastes their time doing petty things, fighting over religion, glued to mobile phones and building concrete buildings for me, says God.

'Life is a beautiful nap in the shade of a tree. The biggest thing is to realize that. Then you will understand the value of life and you will make use of the available time here, reminds God in his letter.'

If rumours are to be believed, she is all set to play the heroine in Mani Ratnam's next.

Premam made her a sensation in Kerala and there is lot of expectation about Sameer Thahir's Kali. The film's trailer has been received very well.

Another star son is ready to be launched in the Malayalam film industry.

Suresh Gopi's son Gokul Suresh will make his debut in Mudhugauv.

The first look poster of the film, directed by debutant Vipin Das, has been released.

Curiously, the poster names him Bharat, which was the hugely popular character that made his dad a superstar. Suresh Gopi had played a fiery cop named Bharat Chandran in Commissioner, Bharat Chandran IPS and The King and the Commissioner.
