Madhuri Dixit to replace Vidya Balan in Dedh Ishqiya

November 03, 2011 17:47 IST

Madhuri Dixit, who returned to India [ Images ] for good last month, will replace Vidya Balan [ Images ] in the sequel to Ishqiya [ Images ], called Dedh Ishqiya.

But Vidya doesn't seem to be upset.

"In the first part, the two men (Naseeruddin Shah [ Images ] and Arshad Warsi [ Images ]) come to my village to meet me. In the next part, they will go elsewhere, so obviously they will meet someone new and not me. Anyways, I like Madhuri Dixit [ Images ] and I'm happy that she is in the sequel," Vidya says.

There are rumours that Naseer may not be a part of the sequel, but will be replaced by Irrfan. Madhuri will be romancing Irrfan.

Arshad Warsi is the only actor retained from the original cast; he will be paired opposite Kangna Ranaut [ Images ].

Abhishek Chaubey had directed Ishqiya, which opened to great reviews and box office collections. The film was produced by Vishal Bhardwaj [ Images ].
