Diva Aur Baati Hum gets a sequel, and Bhabho is an important part of it!

After the super success of the television soap Diya Aur Baati Hum, its makers are coming back with a sequel.

Neelu Vaghela -- popularly known as Bhabho, the most loved character of Diya Aur Baati Hum -- announced the upcoming show Tu Sooraj Main Saanjh Piyaji in an unique event in Kerala. The media was invited to the lovely backwaters for a glimpse into what the new show would offer.

Neelu, who will wear a new look for the second season, addressed the media and said, "People have seen me donning the chaniya choli in part one. In the sequel, you will see me in saris. Bhabho will appear mellowed down but she will have the same attitude and remain as tough as she used to be. The story will move between Kerala and Rajasthan."

Diya Baati Aur Hum ran for five years and has seen record-breaking success.

It was aimed at breaking the stereotypical image of women in rural India and showcased the inspirational journey of Sandhya Rathi (Deepika Singh), who with the support of her husband Sooraj Rathi (Anas Rashid), goes against all odds to become an IPS officer.

"It’s because of the audience love that we are back with the sequel within seven months of it going off air," she added. "There is more excitement than pressure to be a part with the show. We have just started shooting so I cannot share the details but the women empowerment shown in the first season will be there in the sequel too."

The story will continue after Sooraj and Sandhya’s death, which formed the climax of the first season. The sequel will take a leap of 20 years and will see Bhabho in a more prominent role.

Deepika and Anas will not be a part of the sequel. The show will revolve around their children, played by Rhea Sharma and Avinesh Rekhi.

The promos will be out soon and the show is expected to go on air in March.
