After the blockbuster Baahubali the father-son team of K V Vijayendra Prasad and S S Rajamouli has taken the Indian film industry by storm.

While Rajamouli is being wooed by Bollywood’s biggest production houses, his father has caught the attention of India’s biggest star.

According to reports, Vijayendra Prasad is all set to write and direct Rajinikanth in a new film.

A source very close to the development says, “Rajini sir met Vijayendra sir at a public function. They got talking about Baahubali.

“This is when Vijayendra sir pitched an idea to Rajini sir who instantly said yes.”

The film will reportedly have a strong political backdrop.

The details are currently being worked out.

The veteran writer confirmed the news.

“Yes, Rajinikanth sir is doing a film that I’ll write and direct. After the release of Baahubali he felicitated me with a ponnadai (ceremonial golden cloth made of silk). I narrated a story that I wanted to direct. He liked it and said he would do it.”

Rajinikanth will start his film with Vijayendra Prasad after he finishes the sequel to Robot with director Shankar.
