Amy Jackson to cameo in Prabhu Deva's Tamil comeback film

The Prabhu Deva-Tamannaah starrer Devi is all set to hit the screens on September 9.

Directed by Vijay of Madrasapattinam fame, the Tamil film is a trilingual being simultaneously made in Telugu as Abhinetri. The Hindi version is yet to be titled. 

Sonu Sood plays the antagonist while Amy Jackson and Farah Khan have been roped in to play cameos.

The film will mark Prabhu Deva’s return to Tamil cinema after more than a decade. His last outing was Engal Anna in 2004.

Devi, a horror thriller, will be jointly produced by Prabhu Deva and Mumbai-based Popcorn Entertainment.

Venkatesh-Nayantara's Babu Bangaram to be dubbed in Tamil

Daggubati Venkatesh and Nayanthara play the lead in Maruthi Dasari's Telugu film Babu Bangaram.

The film is scheduled for release sometime next month and the makers are looking to cash in on Nayanthara's popularity by releasing a Tamil version of the film.

With back-to-back hits, Nayanthara is the highest paid actress of South Indian cinema today, demanding Rs 3 crore as remuneration.

Babu Bangaram is a romantic comedy and the exciting trailer has already received a great response.

The Tamil version is most likely to be titled Selvi and will be simultaneously released along with the Telugu version.

A R Rahman's sister turns producer

AR Reihana

AR Reihana comes from a family that has seen spectacular success in the film industry.

Though not widely known, Reihana, sister of AR Rahman and mother of music composer-turned-actor GV Prakash, is a popular singer and composer herself.

The latest we hear is that Reihana is all set to venture into production with debutant director Vignesh Karthik’s Yenda Thailaiku Yenna Vekkala, starring Azar and Sanchita Shetty.

AR Reihana will also compose all the songs in this dark comedy.

Vikram Prabhu's Wagah to clash with Iru Mugan?

There might be a clash of two Vikrams on August 12.

Vikram and Vikram Prabhu may compete for screens with Iru Mugan and Wagah respectively, on that date.

Directed by G N R Kumaravelan of Haridas fame, Wagah is set against a military backdrop and revolves around a cross-border romance between an Indian and a Pakistani.

Iru Mugan is a science fiction thriller with Vikram essaying a dual role.

The film is directed by Anand Shankar and will have Nayanthara and Nithya Menen playing the female leads.
