Vivek Oberoi recently bagged a role in his first international film, Roland Joffe's The Invaders.

Aishwarya Rai is apparently slated to play Tulaja, a spy for the Maratha army in Joffe's film.The Asian Age newspaper claimed the actress is doing the role. But producer Ajey Jhankar insists Ash has not signed on as yet. "Negotiations are on," he confirms.

The film is based on the Battle of Wadgaon fought between the British and Marathas in 1779. The British lost the battle. Shooting is expected to start in September in the Orchha-Datia-Gwalior belt in Madhya Pradesh, the Sahyadri range, Goa and Film City in Mumbai.

"Ninety per cent of the film will be shot in India. The rest will be shot in Malta," Jhankar says.
