The government's decision to hike diesel price by Rs 5 has shocked the nation.
The government is committing a "gigantic fraud" on the Indian people and the hike will have a cascading inflationary impact imposing greater burden on the already suffering people, the CPI(M) Polit Bureau said.
The hike will have a cascading effect on the prices of the food grains due to increase in transportation costs.
