Stock picks of the day

The market has staged a good rally to move up smartly to end sharply in positive territory. Capital goods, consumer durables, pharma, IT and PSU have all ended positive in varying degrees while Banks and the FMCG sector has ended in negative territory. Volume registered a sharp decrease (read as turnover) while the undertone seemed bullish.

Sensex (Daily)

Last Close - 8889.03 | Support - 8822, 8726 | Resistance - 8900, 9000

Trading Range - The Sensex opened at 8858.20, moved up to an intra-day high of 8912.12, declined to an intra-day low of 8858.20 and closed at 8889.03.

Review/Outlook - The Sensex's has reflected strength to not only post a fresh all time high but has also closed at an all time high. The Sensex is now in uncharted territory and while a further upside cannot be ruled out, the velocity of the current ongoing rise would induce the need to observe caution at higher levels.
