June 02, 2006 11:28 IST

Tata Consultancy Services has joined German software major SAP AG's SAP global partner-services programme, under which the Tata company becomes a partner for the global enterprise resource planning major's services across the world.

CS is the first Asian consulting company to tie-up with SAP, and under the partnership deal, the company will invest in joint marketing resources and strategic planning.

TCS will work with SAP to develop a range of services that address specific customer pain points across many different industries and markets, TCS said in a release here today.

TCS will serve as a source of international deployment of SAP Business One to subsidiaries of corporate enterprises and apply its expertise in manufacturing to implement adaptive manufacturing solutions for customers worldwide.

The company has signed up for BPO services powered by SAP program and is building a platform to provide human capital management business process outsourcing  services that are based on mySAP ERP.

According to N Chandrasekaran, head of global sales and operations, TCS, "We see tremendous opportunity to help customers in adoption of enterprise service oriented architecture for growth."

"This global partnership will also help drive customer upgrades to mySAP ERP in target verticals, using TCS's innovation labs to build and showcase solution accelerators and composites. We are also pleased to announce that we are now a member of the enterprise services community and already have some of our assets in government and manufacturing verticals on the SAP NetWeaver platform," he said.
