Onboard the stunning superfast Talgo trains

Talgo’s arrival in India marks the beginning faster and efficient train services.

The light-weight swanky train has been hogging the limelight as the fastest train on Indian tracks by clocking a speed of 180-kilometre per hour.

It covered the 84-km Mathura-Palwal route within 38 minutes, beating Gatimaan Express’ record launched in April.

The train is expected to cover the distance between Delhi and Mumbai in less than 12 hours, saving 4 hours.  (It arrived late by 3 hours during the trial run due to water logging in the tracks).

The Talgo has nine coaches, with two executive class coaches, four general class coaches, a cafeteria, a power car and a tail-end coach.

The executive class has 20 seats in each compartment. The premium seats are spacious and have good leg space unlike other trains with cramped seats.

Trial runs between Mumbai and Delhi will continue over the next 15 days, clocking a speed of 130 to 150 kmph.
