The ongoing 2014 Paris Motor Show is exhibiting at least 21 cars that will be arriving to Indian shores by the end of next year. Here are the 10 among them that we are looking forward to.
Maruti Swift facelift
The Swift facelift is reportedly in production in India, though a market launch is yet to take place. It is expected to arrive by end of this year.
Maruti Suzuki SX4 S-Cross
The SX4 S-Cross will go on sale in India early next year. It will rival the Mahindra Scorpio, Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano, and will come powered by petrol and diesel engines.
2014 Honda Jazz
The new Honda Jazz will go on sale in India by March next year. It will be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-liter diesel engine.
2015 Honda CR-V (facelift)
The CR-V received cosmetic changes like updated headlights, a redesigned grille and skid plate and LED detailing for the taillights. Expect the refreshed CR-V to launch in India next year.
2015 VW Passat
The new generation Passat, which had its public premiere at the Paris show, is headed to India next year. Based on the new MQB platform, the new Passat is lighter than its predecessor by nearly 85 kg.
The Dacia-branded Lodgy Stepway was shown at Paris, and the Renault-badged model will commence Indian sales early next year.
The Stuttgart-based brand’s new flagship, the AMG-GT, world premiered at the Paris Motor Show. Given that Mercedes was selling the SLS AMG in India as part of a brand shaping exercise, expect to see the new AMG-GT in India sometime next year or at the 2016 Auto Expo.
2015 Mercedes B Class (facelift)
The midlife update brings to the B Class new headlights, a new front bumper, LED taillights and a new 3-spoke steering wheel. The B Class facelift should make it to India in mid-2015.
The new generation Mini is confirmed to launch in India by the end of this year. The latest iteration of the iconic ‘small car’ is larger in dimension than the model it replaces, and comes powered by three- and four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines.
2015 MY Range Rover and Range Rover Sport
The two SUVs get minor updates like satin-gray finish for the wheels, a standard fixed panoramic roof, new colors and Land Rover’s InControl Apps. The update also sees the 4.4-liter diesel engine pushing out 740 Nm of torque as against 700 Nm.
