Malaysian furniture firm forays into India

IDSB Flexoffice, the leading office-furnishing company from Malaysia, has announced its foray into the Indian market.

The firm opened its maiden exclusive showroom Flexoffice in Bangalore on Saturday.

Malaysia's Deputy Prime Minister Mohammed Najib Tun Abd Razak leading a high power delegation on a business mission to India, inaugurated the showroom.

Established in 1994, Flexoffice specialises in modular panels. The company has a unique range Open Plan Office System, which incorporates workstations with office furniture such as panels, tables, chairs, cabinets and mobile pedestal.

Its other range of products include Office Commercial Renovation, custom made furniture, Desking System and Call Centre, a complete range of furnishing solutions for call centres.

Earlier, Flexoffice products were being sold through traders in the Indian market.

"Bangalore being the Silicon Valley attracted us to start direct operations in India. The development in the IT sector is exponential. New office constructions for BPOs, biotech companies, banking and financial services are mushrooming. We intend to tap this market as the growth potential is immense," IDSB chairman Dato Hamzah Zainudin said.

Flexoffice manufactures and exports office furniture products and systems to Brunei, Hong Kong, Australia, Bangladesh, Papua New Guinea, West Asia and Philippines.

The total exports constitutes 45 per cent of he production capacity with an annual turnover of $22 million.
