Panasonic launches new camera phone

Panasonic India, the consumer durables and electronics major, on Monday announced the launch of its new camera phone Panasonic X300.

Panasonic sources said that the exact price of the phone has not yet been finalised, but it will be available in the market for 'less than Rs 13,000.'

The phone is targeted at high-end consumers who are looking for "novelty and distinctiveness" in function and design, Panasonic said in a statement.

It has a pop up LCD display screen, which helps display crystal clear images, the company said.

The unique X300 from Panasonic has a one-push button pop-up LCD 65K colour screen, the first for any mobile handset.

The tri-band phone also features video record and playback capability, 40 polyphonic ring tones, Multimedia Messaging and built-in camera.

The built-in VGA camera can take still pictures or video. It utilises GPRS class 8 as connection model. Users can browse the Internet contents using WAP 2.0 browser. Other features include calendar, calculator, JAVA games and wallpaper download.
