The county's booming travel and hospitality industry is likely to emerge as one of the most buoyant employer, with 83 per cent intending to hire more in the next three months, says global staffing services firm Manpower.

"The rapidly growing Travel and Hospitality industry forms one of the most buoyant employers with Net Employment Outlook standing at robust 83 per cent in the third quarter of 2008," according to the latest Manpower Employment Outlook Survey.

The rampant growth is visible in metros as well as in Tier II and III cities. This would lead to an increase in employment potential, as real estate developers, hotel operators and investors would set up more properties in smaller cities, the survey added.

A zone specific survey highlights the fact that the Western region is the most optimistic with 92 per cent of the employers reporting an increase and 4 per cent reporting no change in the hiring intent.

West is followed by North region where 83 per cent of employers are positive while 12 per cent predicts no change. The Southern province stands at the bottom while in the Eastern region 80 per cent of the employers reported an increase while 7 per cent reported no change in the intent.

This employment outlook was derived from responses collected from human resources heads in top hotels, restaurants, travel agents among others.

An estimated 4.4 million tourists are expected to visit India with an annual average growth rate of 12 per cent in the next few years and the domestic tourist market is also flourishing.
