IT major Fujitsu, which commenced its India operations six months ago, has firmed up plans to set up development centres at multiple locations in India in the coming days.

These offshore development centres will cater exclusively to Fujitsu's North American clients.

"These centres will be engaged in design work for niche products in the automotive sector. We are looking at projects involving CAD/CAM work. The projects are in the finalising stage. Once the deals are through, we will go ahead with the plans to open development centres in India," Fujitsu India business manager Chandran Sasikanth told Business Standard here.

The firm has already selected the locations for the development centres. "Our focus is on Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Pune. The requirement ranges from 300 seats or more at each location. Everything depends on the size of the project," he added.

Sasikanth admitted that Fujitsu is a late entrant into the Indian market. "However, our brand value proposition has attracted many customers. The response has been tremendous. The growth pattern is encouraging. It is our intention to build long term relationship with Indian MNCs," he stated.

Fujitsu also offers a whole range of products like computing products and services in India.
