Dow Corning Corporation on Monday announced that it would set up a manufacturing facility in Pune at the MIDC Industrial Park in Ranjangaon.
The new plant, which is scheduled to be operational in 2006, will manufacture value-added products for the Indian and Asian market, including polymers, lubricants, sealants, and emulsions.
To provide innovative solutions to suit customer needs, an application engineering technical services laboratory has been established at the Pune site. The laboratory serves as a venue for local and international enterprises to embrace cutting-edge technologies in partnership with Dow Corning's technical professionals.

"This new facility will help us support the needs of local and multinational customers, and is an important part of our growth plans for India and for Asia."

The new plant will help Dow Corning address the soaring global demand for silicon-based materials in a wide variety of industries and emerging markets. Particularly in Asia, the growth in the last few years has been outstanding, and it is anticipated that this growth will continue.
The new plant will serve as a platform for growth by providing manufacturers with silicon-based products, technologies and solutions to compete in the global marketplace. Dow Corning's products and solutions are designed to spur the growth of many of India's leading domestic manufacturers.
