The Confederation of Indian Industry will start its Shanghai office in July, a senior official of the chamber said.

Speaking at a seminar 'On doing business with China' in Kolkata on Thursday, senior director of CII Piyush Bahl said the chamber would organise Maiden India Show from October 16 to 19 in Beijing, in addition to the India-China Hitech Show, which will run concurrently.

Bahl said Indo-China trade was at the level of $5.2 billion during calendar year 2002. This would rise to $7.5 billion in 2003, and is likely to touch $ 10 billion in 2004.
