The government will face a volley of questions on the conditional access system when the monsoon session of Parliament begins on Monday.

Half the questions listed for the day are on CAS. Also, there are three calling attention motions on the issue on the same day.

In the Rajya Sabha, about 11 questions on CAS are listed for the question hour. Among these, two are starred and the rest are unstarred.

Officials of the information and broadcasting ministry are, therefore, busy preparing answers to the queries amidst the chaos regarding Star TV and CAS rollout.

The two starred questions relate to the commitment for free to air channels from the various sections of the broadcasting sector as well as on the availability of set top boxes in the various parts of the country.

The other two starred questions are on the circulation and sale of newspapers and on censor board for advertisement and serials.

The unstarred questions, refer to the crisis on CAS and the government's decision on the issue. There are also questions on the settlement on CAS and CAS in metropolitan cities.

The members of Parliament are also raising question on dual feed system under CAS and manufacturing of set top boxes. There are also questions on the implementation of CAS.

The other unstarred questions are on the development of the film industry, foreign investment in news agencies, licences and guideline for direct to home operations and revival of licence for radio and TV sets.
