Tata Consultancy Services along with Bharti Televentures and National Thermal Power Corp was on Friday adjudged among the best employers in India by leading global human resources management firm Hewitt Associates.
Other companies which figured in Hewitt's list of 25 best employers were Procter & Gamble, Glaxo SmithKline, Tata Motors, Satyam Computer, Intel, Indian Oil Corp, Johnson & Johnson, Dr Reddy's, GAIL, ST Microelectronics, Philips, Mindtree, Eureka Forbes, Agilent Technologies, Tata Steel, Biocon, Hindustan Petroleum Corp, EI DuPont, Oracle, Birla Sunlife, Wipro Spectramind and Gillette.
Bharti CEO Sunil Mittal was chosen the most popular or 'Best People's CEO' among its employees.
Procter & Gamble received the most admired HR department's award at a function in New Delhi.
The five best managed workforce were in Godrej Consumer Products, IFFCO, Parry Confectionery, The Leela Palace Kempinski and Jubilant Organosys, according to Hewitt.
"The best employers inspire and maintain a passion for outstanding achievement. They not only pose sharp focus and clarity but also share it simply and effectively with the employees besides looking for building sustainability of customer relationships," Hewitt managing director for Asia-Pacific, Mick Bennett, told PTI in New Delhi.
Eight of the 25 best employers were in the IT sector, while four were in the FMCG and rest from energy, telecom, manufacturing and other sectors.
Of the top 25 companies, three were from the Tata group and four were public sector undertakings.
This year 272 companies with a workforce of 700,000 participated in the Hewitt survey, which makes it the highest participation in any geographical location.
The study conducted by Hewitt concluded that the best employers viewed talent management as an important investment, focused on building a high performance work environment, articulated the elements of their organisation's culture, used rewards as a differentiating tool and drove leadership behaviour throughout the organisation.
Hewitt identified the 25 Best Employers based on in-depth questionnaires, which was later analysed by a panel of judges.
