With the integration process for baazee.com with Nasdaq listed eBay.com getting completed, baazee.com as a web address will get transformed into eBay.in.
Indian online market place, baazee.com was acquired by eBay.com in August 2004.
"Since last August we initiated the five-step integration process with eBay and now we will be called as eBay.in," Avnish Bajaj, country manager for bazee.com told reporters in New Delhi on Tuesday.
The complete integration will be finished by June 2005.
EBay as an online marketplace is spread over 32 countries and has over 135 million registered users.
"Baazee.com has over one million registered users in India across 240 cities and with it becoming eBay.in, Indian sellers will be able to sell in 32 countries and Indian buyers can buy in the international marketplace at the cheapest possible price," said Bajaj.
Industry sources say that eBay India will spend close to Rs 5 crore (RS 50 million) this year for building the eBay.in brand online as well as in the print medium.
"We have a tie-up with Yahoo, MSN and rediff.com and we will spend enough to build the eBay.in brand in India," said Bajaj.
According to a recent IDC report, India, today has over 18 million active Internet user base which is expected to touch 30 million by 2006.
