Thousands of car and bike lovers in Delhi are thronging the 7th Auto Expo at Pragati Maiden in New Delhi to gawk at the hottest and most expensive wheels on display there.

But one car that is attracting huge attention is the one designed by the students of the Delhi College of Engineering.

This racing car won the Fisita 'Best Endeavour' award for designing and manufacturing a formula type car. The event was held in Leicester in United Kingdom.

"We have put up this car to inspire other students to do this kind of work. We are manufacturing another car this year for the same event. It is going to be a 600-cc car and we are 'selling' each cc for Rs 200. If somebody buys more then 10 cc then his name would appear on the car," said Chirag Taneja.

On the first day of the auto exhibition the boys of Delhi College of Engineering had sold more then 100 cc to various individuals.

"I am really excited at the performance of the boys and I want them to do well even this year as well and hence I am buying one cc from them," said S Malhotra one of the visitors to their show room.

The boys hope to generate over Rs 120,000 from this venture which in turn would help them in bringing down the cost of their second venture.
