Shortly after the Calcutta High Court directed them to resume duties, the agitating pilots of the small ATR-42 aircraft of Alliance Air indicated that they would join work from Friday.

The pilots, who had abstained from duty since February 14 in protest against non-fulfilment of their demands, are likely to join by this evening, the Alliance Air sources said.

"There are indications from the pilots that they would join duty by evening but nothing can be said definitely until they join," the sources said.

The Alliance Air moved the Calcutta High Court today against the agitating pilots, which restrained them from staying away from duty without reasonable cause.

The pilots' move had led to grounding of the entire ATR-42 fleet of AA severely disrupting operations to North-East destinations.
