Mobile services provider Airtel has announced the launch of Airtel Easy Music across the country.

Available for all Airtel subscribers, this service will basically enable users to download a ringtone or a 'Hello Tune' by visiting any of the 1,00,000 retail outlets across India (20,000 in Andhra Pradesh).

Addressing the media on Thursday, T Elango, chief executive officer, Bharti Tele-Ventures Limited, Andhra Pradesh, said this service will ensure that language does not play a barrier in downloading songs as ringtones or Hello Tunes, as a customer will just have to visit the outlet, choose his song and ask the retailer to download it for him. Airtel Easy Music provides a bank of over 18,000 songs in 20 Indian languages.

Value added services, at present, contribute to around 16 per cent of the company's revenues.

"Services involving music (ringtones and Hello Tunes) contribute to around 40 per cent of our VAS revenues," Elango added.
