Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council chairman C Rangarajan has resigned from his post.

"I have resigned," Rangarajan told PTI. He, however, refused to go into reasons for his resignation.

Earlier, Rangarajan held the post of RBI Governor during 1992-97. He was also the Governor of Andhra Pradesh and has been a Member of the Planning Commission.

The Prime Minister's EAC is expected to give its outlook on economy for the current fiscal in a week's time.
