Reforms, not 'mindless' divestment, to go on: Congress

May 14, 2004 16:41 IST

"The views of the Congress and its allies will be harmonised on the issue. Divestment will continue but mindless divestment will be stopped," Congress General Secretary Kamal Nath told reporters in New Delhi.

Asked if the Left parties tried to prevent the government in the divestment process, he said, "I think they do understand the issue because they are also ruling in some states. I don't think the Left parties will be an impediment on it."
