All projects to be processed on fast-track basis: Antony

January 18, 2003 18:58 IST

The Kerala government on Saturday declared 2003-2004 as the investment year and said all the projects for which investment decisions are to be made in the next financial year would be processed on a fast-track basis, as are the projects which are to come up before the Global Investor Meet.

Addressing the first GIM in Kochi, Chief Minister A K Antony told the investors that requisite clearances for projects found viable and selected by them would be processed on a fast-track basis, case by case and approval would be accorded in a time-bound manner.

The government's vision was to make Kerala a new, vibrant state, confident of facing the globalisation. Kerala was already a leading tourist destination on the world map.

A major infrastructure upgradation project, 'Kerala transport development project,' with World Bank aid, was already underway.

An IT literacy dissemination project 'Akshaya' had been launched, aimed at making the state the first 100 per cent computer literate state in India by 2004 end, he said.
