Port projects worth Rs 4,650 crore for GIM

M V Raghavan, Kerala Minister for Co-operation and Ports, said on Friday that five ports in the state with development potential in association with the private sector, attracting a total investment of Rs 4,650 crore, would be showcased at the Global Investor Meet starting in Kochi on Saturday.

Talking to reporters, Raghavan said the ports identified were Vizhinjam, Azhikal, Beypore, Allapuzha and Thankaserry.

The minister said the plan was to develop Vizhinjam as a major international container transshipment terminal and a consultant would be appointed soon to prepare feasibility study and tender notices.
