Your travel pics: The vibrant hues of India

We invited readers to send in their favourite travel pic -- that one photograph that perfectly captures the beauty of a place they visited. And we have been inundated with stunning pics of every corner of this beautiful country. We would like to thank readers for the tremendous response. Keep those pics coming!

Here we publish some more photographs we received.

First up is this pic of Chidiya Tapu, Port Blair, Andaman Islands sent in by Rajesh Kumar Dora.

"We went there in January 2009. This point is the southern most point of Port Blair," he shares.

Sikkim


We visited North Sikkim in October 2009," says Vijay Bhadani. "This photograph was taken along the road to Zero Point (near the India-China border). The flags highlight the presence of Buddhist culture around that area; and the snow-covered Himalayas form the background."

Dang, Gujarat


Vijay also send in this pic of a a protected bamboo forest in Dang, Gujarat.

"We visited in 2004 just after the rains. The photograph was taken just before entering the forest."

Rohtang Pass, Himachal Pradesh


Dipanjan Chakrabarty sends in this pic taken on the way back from Rohtang Pass, near Marhi, during heavy snowfall back in October 2008.

Solang Valley, Himachal Pradesh


Dipanjan also sends in this photograph of the serene and picturesque Solang Valley, Manali.

Namdroling Monastery, Karnataka


Next is Dipanjan's picture of the Namdroling Monastery, Kushalnagar, Coorg.

"This place has one of the biggest Tibetan settlements in India," he says. "Absolute colourful splendour!"

Mehrangarh Fort, Rajasthan


This is a photo taken atop Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur in December 2008, sent in by Dipankar.

Golden Fort, Rajasthan


And last but by no means the least is this photo taken during a walk around the 'Sonar Kella' or Golden Fort in
Jaisalmer.
