Rules of casual sex: Who says women can't handle it?

Kuber Sharma asks the above question and offers his take on random hook-ups of an intimate nature between the two sexes.

Who says women can't handle one night stands?

What's good for the gander is good for the goose they say. And I cannot agree more. When women can do everything that men can, what is the big deal with 'one night stands'? But apparently there is. I'm no expert (unfortunately), but it usually works for any two people who are looking for something casual.

Mind you, walk through the doors of this 'gated community' only when you are looking for sex with strictly no strings attached. If you go there with the right expectations you can take as many as you want. But forget the rule and you will hurt yourself, sometimes real bad.

Research (no, not me) has shown, that women usually tend to forget this rule. This is because the women most likely to go down the one-night-stand route are the ones dealing with a messy break-up. Or who are thoroughly bored of their singlehood and are desperately looking for validation of their looks. Or worse still, who are totally caught up in the 'if-he-can-do-it-I-can-do-it' race.

Cheated and used

The night before, the idea of a no-strings-attached one night stand seems perfect. The excitement and the expectation of waking up liberated is the lure. But for most women, there's anything but liberation the morning after. 'Cheated and used' is what they feel by their conquest. Yet he was playing the game strictly by the rules.

Why feel that way when you knew nothing more was going to happen? That's the obvious question in every guy's mind.

Well, it's usually a whirlwind of thought which drags her down. 'What does he think of me? What if my friends ever found out? Why didn't he wait for me to wake up?' And this is what makes her regret the previous night.

No equality

Whether it is the media or the marketers in general, women have been sold a lie and they're paying for having bought it. The sooner they accept it the better. They need to understand that they are emotionally different from men.

In certain things there's no equality. Whether they like it or not, they are just programmed differently -- at least most of them are. And sex usually means a lot emotional involvement for them. No matter how hard they try, they end up feeling worthless the next morning.

Whatever they might claim, men who have casual sex judge women for doing just the same thing. Which means any woman sleeping around for fun is jeopardising her chances of landing a high status husband. And that is the bitter truth. So the fault does not lie entirely with women.

Catching up

Having said all this, although most women wake up feeling troubled and negative after a one night stand, some are perfectly comfortable and cheerful the morning after. They are just as casual about sex as men are.

So there you go. If a few of the fairer sex has already caught up, it won't be too long before they all start giving men a run for their ds.
