Bajaj Auto has just recently made it official. The company will be launching the Kawasaki Ninja 650R on the June 8. The bike will rival the Hysoung GT650R and will be the assembled at Chakan. It will be one of the most affordable machines for those looking to get into performance biking.

The Ninja 650R is also known as ER-6F is a middle weight superbike which is powered by a 649cc parallel twin. This four-stroke, liquid-cooled, DOHC, four-valve motor produces a power output of 72 PS at 8500 rpm and 66Nm of torque at 7000 RPM.

What this equates to is a very fast bike. For starters, the Ninja 650R will do a quarter mile in 12 seconds. Trust me, that is faaaast!

The instrumentation on this Ninja is inspired from MotoGP bar-style digital tachometer. It also displays the usual digital speedometer, odometer, fuel gauge, dual trip meters and a clock.

But I am sure you won't care to look at it when you would be nudging past 200 kmph, which this bike can easily do.

The Ninja 650R weighs in at 200 kg and uses a 6-speed manual transmission to transfer all that power to the road. But what really sets this Ninja apart is the pricing.

The company plans to price the 650R around Rs 6 lakh, which is a big threat to the Hyosung GT650R. Knowing Bajaj, we can expect the Ninja to outperform all others in its segment.
