Wickedleak Wammy Neo 3

Wickedleak's new Wammy Neo 3 is so beautiful that it will catch the attention of everyone around you. We had the paper white to test and while it also comes in black, we would definitely recommend the white one.

Design

The sleek phone is not just great to look at, the paper back finish makes this a joy to hold. This is the first time I have handled a phone with this texture for the phone. The volume rocker and power buttons are on the right hand side, and are so subtle that you could accidentally press the power button in place of the volume down button for a bit.

While it is annoying at the start, you get used to it after a bit. There are two slits on the back of the bottom half of the phone. This is a very clever way to let the heat percolate out of the phone rather than making it uncomfortable to hold. This is badly required for other phones and is a big thumbs up for this phone.

Performance

This is a power-packed phone with a 1.7 Ghz processor and a 3 GB RAM that can handle multi-tasking and heavy applications with ease. We tested several of the leading apps at one point -- close to 15 apps running together and the phone finally decided to give up at the 16th app when it started lagging.

We were very impressed with what it could take.

Battery

The giant 3000 mAh battery does the trick for this phone, and when you decide to fly with this phone the battery will support a full day of use. On an exceptionally heavy use day it will last till about 5 PM which says a lot. And even when you put your phone on charge for half hour you get another 100 per cent till you sleep in the night. Very good battery.

Camera

The 14 MP rear camera with a 5 MP front camera is a standout for this phone. The pictures are vivid and full of colour and destroy every other phone in its own category and challenge phones that are much more expensive.

The camera however does its best in daylight -- indoors it is not as good and under the incandescent light it is extremely poor. This however is the case with most phones in the range and I will not hold that against the Wammy Neo 3.

Software

It runs the standard 4.4.2 KitKat OS at this point in time but we should see a Lollipop upgrade. There are some snags in handling some apps if you use the software buttons; we struggled with Snapchat -- but this is a software snag that will be fixed.

Sound

The sound output is phenomenal from the standard 3.5mm audiojack but the in built speakers do not pack that much of a punch. Hey, if you want to play for a party you don't go for this phone.

Overall

We were very happy with the phone, the other phones in the market at this price are nowhere close to the kind of specs this phone sports. We do recommend this phone.

At Rs 13,000 it is a steal and blows the competition out of the water.
