Triumph entered India in November 2013 by launching 10 motorcycles across various categories. The British automaker launched its 11th product at the 2014 Auto Expo and now the company has brought the Thunderbird LT to the Indian market. LT in the Thunderbird LT stands for Light Tourer.

The bike is brought to India via the CBU route and is priced at Rs 15.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Triumph Thunderbird LT is based on the Thunderbird Commander, the motorcycle which made its public debut at the EICMA show last year. The bike has a lot of presence, it features chrome in abundance and the saddle bags can store around 26-litres of luggage.

The motorcycle gets a main headlight with two auxiliary lamps on the side. It also features a long windscreen.

The Triumph Thunderbird LT is powered by a 1699cc, parallel-twin engine which generates 94 PS and 151 Nm. This powerplant is the world's most powerful parallel-twin unit, matched to a 6-speed gearbox.

The Thunderbird LT uses 47 mm front forks and 5-way adjustable rear twin shocks. With twin discs at the front and a single disc at the rear, the Thunderbird LT also gets ABS as standard.

The Thunderbird LT also gets white walled tyres which give it the retro touch. The motorcycle gets an LCD display on the analogue console which has multi-information readout.

Triumph currently has 9 dealerships in India and plans to aggressively expand its network across the country. The automaker has plans to launch more products in the high-end motorcycle space in the near future.
