As Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his boys launch a fresh campaign for the World T20 title, a look at the best Indian batting efforts in the tournament.

Suresh Raina

101 off 60 balls vs South Africa in 2010. Strike rate: 168.33

Raina smashed the South African bowlers all over the park to help India to a formidable 186 for five at the Beausejour Stadium in St Lucia, the West Indies.

Raina's innings had nine hits to the fence and five over it. India won the game by 14 runs.

It is the only century by an Indian batsman in the T20 World Cup, and one of only four tons scored in the tournament.

Yuvraj Singh

58 off 16 balls vs England in 2007. Strike rate: 362.50

The World T20 has witnessed some memorable Yuvi knocks.

The best came in the inaugural tournament, in the match against England at Kingsmead, Durban, South Africa.

Yuvraj smashed 70 off just 30 balls to help India amass 218 for four.

He became the first batsman in T20 cricket to slam six sixes in an over off the hapless Stuart Broad.

And completed his half century off just 12 balls.

England lost the game by 18 runs.

Virender Sehwag

68 off 42 balls vs England in 2007. Strike rate: 130.76

This knock came in the same game against England at Kingsmead, Durban.

Viru's early belligerence laid the foundation for the Indian innings and gave Yuvraj Singh the freedom to go for his shots.

Sehwag's knock had four boundaries and three big sixes.

With Gautam Gambhir (58), he added 136 off just 88 balls for the opening wicket.

Yuvraj Singh

70 off 38 balls vs Australia in 2007. Strike rate: 233.33

Another gem from Yuvi. And it came at the best possible time.

It was the second semi-final of the inaugural tournament and Yuvi was back at Kingsmead.

With India having lost two wickets early, the stage was set for the flamboyant batsman.

His knock was inclusive of five boundaries and an equal number of sixes; one of them -- off Brett Lee -- travelling to a distance of 119 metres, the longest six of the tournament.

India scored 188 for five and won the semi-final by 15 runs.

Gautam Gambhir

75 off 54 balls vs Pakistan in 2007. Strike rate: 138.88

India won the toss in the 2007 final against Pakistan and elected to bat first at the Wanderers.

The move backfired. Well, almost!

Pakistan's bowling attack, led by Umar Gul (3-28), made frequent breakthroughs to keep the Indians on edge.

Gambhir was the standout batsman that day. His innings included eight boundaries and a couple of sixes and took India to what turned out to be a match-winning total of 157 for five.

Rohit Sharma

79 not out off 46 balls vs Australia in 2010. Strike rate: 171.73

This knock alas came in a lost cause.

Australia posted a formidable 184 for five in the Super Eights tie at the Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, the West Indies.

And the Aussie bowlers kept striking at regular intervals to throttle India's chase.

Only Rohit stood out, his innings replete with four hits to the fence and a six over it.

He ran out of partners, and Australia won the game, comfortably by 49 runs.
