The chairman of the national cricket selection committee, K Srikanth and the three other members of the committee arrived in Chennai to pick the final squad for the 2011 World Cup.
The national selectors will select the 15-member Team India [ Images ] out of 30 probables.
According to sources, selectors will select eight to nine batsmen and one extra wicketkeeper. Mahendra Singh Dhoni [ Images ] will lead the Team India at the World Cup, beginning February 19.
Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar [ Images ], Virender Sehwag [ Images ], Gautam Gambhir [ Images ], Suresh Raina [ Images ], Yusuf Pathan [ Images ], Zaheer Khan [ Images ], Harbhajan Singh [ Images ] and Virat Kohli [ Images ] are sure to get the berth in World Cup side.
As far as second wicketkeeper is concerned, the fight is between Parthiv Patel [ Images ] and Dinesh Karthik [ Images ].
Ashish Nehra [ Images ], Munaf Patel [ Images ], S Sreesanth [ Images ], Praveen Kumar [ Images ], R Vinay Kumar and Ishant Sharma [ Images ] will vie for a spot in the pace department, while Pragyan Ojha [ Images ], Amit Mishra [ Images ], R Ashwin and Piyush Chawla [ Images ] will contest for a place in the spin department.
