The wedding ceremony of India's star cricketer and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be solemnized Sunday night, with Sakshi Rawat  at a private farmhouse belonging to former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia.

The farmhouse is barely 20 Km away from this capital city of the Himalayan state, on the Dehradun – Chakrata road.

Even as family members on both sides have gone underground and have completely shut their doors to the media, highly placed sources confirmed that the family 'pundit' had finalized 8.35 as the 'mahurat' for the wedding ceremony.

Prominent among the cricketers who have already arrived here were Harbhajan Singh, Ashish Nehra and R.P.Singh , while a few others were expected to join later in the evening.

While a couple of Bollywood celebrities were invited for the wedding, the only one to have landed in Dehra Dun so far was Jon Abraham - sans Bipasha Basu.

A tight security ring has been laid around the venue and the  media has been stopped more than 1.5 km away from the place.

Besides a large number of private security personnel , stated to have been brought from Delhi, a large contingent of police has also been deployed to keep the "unwanted " at bay.

"Apparently, the wedding ceremony of the cricketer was kept under wraps because the families wanted it to be a totally private affair; and why not ? They have full right to their privacy", Uttarakhand director general of police Subhash Joshi told this scribe, while confessing, "most government officials including myself, are not invited."

Earlier on Saturday , a "hush-hush" engagement ceremony was performed at the Bhagirathi Resort, about 16 Km from Dehra Dun.

The bride's family have their roots in Dehra Dun, where her father returned after his retirement . Her grandfather , a retired divisional forest officer, was also permanently settled in Dehra Dun.

One of her cousins, Abhilasha Bisht was posted here as  deputy inspector general of police until recently, when she moved out on a UN assignment.
