India Test opener Gautam Gambhir's [Images] appeal against his one-match ban has been rejected.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India on Tuesday received the order of Justice Albie Sachs, the lead Appeals Commissioner, on Gambhir's appeal against the decision of ICC [Images] Match Referee Chris Broad imposing a one-Test ban against him.

While rejecting the appeal, Sachs also upheld the penalty imposed by the Match Referee.

Gambhir was handed a one-Test ban for elbowing Shane Watson in the drawn Test against Australia [Images] at Kotla.

Te BCCI refused to accept the decision and sent its objection to the same to the ICC.

The said order, the BCCI said, was without affording the player an opportunity of personal hearing, legal representation and without acceding to his request for certain documents, recordings to be given to him and also denying him an extension of time.

Meanwhile, M Vijay of Tamil Nadu has been included in the Indian squad and has been asked to report at Nagpur.
