4th Test: India elect to bat

India captain Anil Kumble [Images] won the toss and elected to bat on the opening day of the fourth and final Test match against Australia at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday.

India went in with a five-bowler attack as they included off spinner Harbhajan Singh [Images] in the side leaving out struggling opener Wasim Jaffer [Images].

Special: Rivalry adds spice to finale

All-rounder Irfan Pathan [Images] was handed the job of opening the batting with Virender Sehwag [Images].

Australia made two changes in their team as opener Matthew Hayden [Images] returned to the team in place of Chris Rogers and paceman Shuan Tait making way for spinner Brad Hogg [Images].

Australia lead the series 2-1 after victories in the first two Tests at Melbourne and Sydney. India won the third Test at Perth by 72 runs.
