Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene won the toss and elected to bat in the third one-day international against India on Wednesday.

The visitors, who lead the four-match series 1-0, made one change to their team with strike bowler Lasith Malinga making way for Dilhara Fernando.

India dropped opener Robin Uthappa and middle-order batsman Yuvraj Singh, who missed the previous two games with a back injury, returned to the side.

The start was delayed by half an hour due to heavy dew.

Sri Lanka won the previous match at Rajkot by five runs. The opening game at Kolkata was abandoned due to rain.

Teams:

India: Rahul Dravid (capt), Saurav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Yuvraj Singh, Dinesh Karthik, Mahendra Dhoni (wk), Harbhajan Singh, Ajit Agarkar, Munaf Patel and Zaheer Khan.

Sri Lanka: Mahela Jayawardene (capt), Sanath Jayasuriya, Upul Tharanga, Kumar Sangakkara (wk), Marvan Atapattu, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Russel Arnold, Farveez Maharoof, Dilhara Fernando, Malinga Bandara and Nuwan Kulasekera.
