Stylish middle order batsman V V S Laxman [Images] says he is fully fit and disappointed to miss out on a berth in the Indian limited-overs' team that will tour South Africa.

Pooh-poohing national selection committee chairman Dilip Vengsarkar's doubts about his fitness, Laxman said he was expecting to return to the Indian team considering his experience in international cricket.

"It's quite disappointing. I was expecting a call; I thought they need an experienced player at No 3. Somehow Vengsarkar has an impression that I have a fitness problem. But I am preparing for the [Duleep Trophy] match against Sri Lanka [Images] 'A', the Hyderabadi player said.

The elegant right-hander, who has never played in the World Cup, said he is working towards making it to the Indian squad for the mega event in the West Indies [Images] next year.

"I am very keen to play in the World Cup. I am working hard to achieve that," he added.
