-The wicket of Lou Vincent was 350th for Shaun Pollock [Images] in his 262nd match. He became fifth bowler in the history of the game to reach this landmark after Pakistan's Wasim Akram (502 wickets in 356 matches), Sri Lankan Muttiah Muralitharan (419 in 279), Waqar Younis (416 in 262) and Sri Lankan Chaminda Vaas [Images] (358 in 283).

-Stephen Fleming's 89 accounted for 45.64 percent of New Zealand [Images] total. This is the second highest contribution made by a Kiwi captain in a completed innings (where all ten wickets fell). Only Martin Crowe (47.20% - 76 out of 161 v England [Images] at Sydney on 13-12-1990) has made a higher contribution than Fleming for New Zealand.

-Fleming remained the top-scorer in New Zealand's innings. This was the 11th time that Fleming was top-scoring in a completed innings (where all ten wickets fell) as New Zealand's captain. This takes Fleming at level with Sri Lankan Arjuna Ranatunga to have most such instances for any captain in ODIs, ahead of India's Mohammad Azharuddin (10).

-All South African batsmen scored a total of 10 boundaries in the match - one less than what Stephen Fleming [Images] hit for New Zealand.
