Tendulkar survives injury scare December 26, 2006 22:05 IST Sachin Tendulkar survived an injury scare on Tuesday when X-rays revealed just a bruise on his right thumb, which he sustained while attempting a catch on the opening day of the second Test against South Africa in Durban. Tendulkar was rushed to the hospital after he hurt his thumb while trying to take a low catch of AB de Villiers in the slips off VRV Singh just before tea. X-rays revealed no fracture and the bruise should not hamper him unduly when it is India's turn to bat. Rahul Dravid had fractured his finger while attempting to take a catch during a one-dayer in Cape Town last month to miss the last two matches of the ODI series. Virender Sehwag had also hurt his finger during practice in the tour opening game and was forced to sit out of the first one-dayer.
