Skipper Anirudh Singh and Ambati Rayudu hit half centuries to guide Hyderabad to 246 for 5 at close on the first day of the four-day Ranji Trophy Elite Group B match against Rajasthan in Jaipur on Friday.

At stumps, D Vinay and Khalil were unbeaten on 8 and 1 respectively at stumps.

Anirudh (87, 225 balls, 10x4, 1x6) and Rayudu (62, 84 balls, 8X4, 2x6) put on 99 runs for the third wicket after Hyderababd won the toss and elected to bat.

Left-arm spinner Mohd. Aslam bowled extremely well for the home team, claiming three for 64 runs, while the other two wickets were claimed by skipper Ajay Jadeja and Rahul Kanwat. England [Images] recruit Kabir Ali was unimpressive, giving away 40 runs in 13 overs, as none of the Rajasthan medium pacers made an impact on the Hyderabad batsmen.
