Saleem Altaf appointed Pak manager February 18, 2005 14:39 IST Former Test fast bowler Saleem Altaf was appointed as Pakistan cricket team's manager for the upcoming tour of India after another former player Majid Khan turned down the offer. PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan said that considering the importance of the tour, Altaf, who is also the PCB's Director (Cricket Operations), had been appointed to the post. "We have relieved Haroon Rasheed, who has been our manager for the last two years and did an excellent job," Shaharyar Khan said. Asad Mustafa, who is General Manager (Logistics) of PCB, has been appointed as Assistant Manager. Altaf was appointed manager after Majid Khan rejected the offer to take up the post of manager on the Indian tour.
