Haddin to captain Australia A on tour of Pakistan

Wicketkeeper Brad Haddin has been named captain of the Australia A team to tour Pakistan next month.

Haddin was among a handful of players, including Brad Hodge, Shaun Tait and Stuart Clark, who are currently on tour with the Australian Ashes team in England [Images].

The 14-man Australia A squad will play two four-day matches against Pakistan A in Rawalpindi and three 50-over matches against the same opposition in Lahore [Images].

"We have selected a squad of players that we consider could play for Australia in the future," Australia's chairman of selectors Trevor Hohns said in a statement on Thursday.

"It is a very strong squad which includes some really exciting prospects."

Australia A squad: Brad Haddin (captain), Michael Hussey, Nathan Bracken [Images], Stuart Clark, Daniel Cullen, Brad Hodge, James Hopes, Phil Jaques, Michael Lewis, Marcus North, Shaun Tait, Dominic Thornely, Shane Watson, Cameron White.
