June 07, 2004 21:53 IST

Pace bowler James Anderson has returned to the 12-man England squad for the third and final Test against New Zealand starting at Trent Bridge on Thursday.

Anderson missed the nine-wicket win in the second Test at Headingley with a heel injury.

The 21-year-old made his Test debut last year, taking five wickets against Zimbabwe, but has not featured since December after a dip in form.

England lead the series 2-0.

Squad: Michael Vaughan (captain), Marcus Trescothick, Andrew Strauss, Mark Butcher, Graham Thorpe, Andrew Flintoff, Geraint Jones, Martin Saggers, Ashley Giles, Steve Harmison, Matthew Hoggard, James Anderson.
