Ganguly reported for dissent

December 01, 2004 19:54 IST

India captain Sourav Ganguly was summoned by ICC Match Referee Jeff Crowe after the umpires reported him for showing dissent on the fourth day of the second cricket Test against South Africa in Kolkata on Wednesday.

"The umpires have reported the matter to me. There will be a hearing with Ganguly tonight, after which a decision will be announced," Crowe said.

Ganguly was reported for making gestures at umpire Daryl Harper, who turned down an appeal for bat-pad catch against Jacques Kallis in South Africa's second innings.

Television replays showed a thick inside edge from Kallis off Harbhajan Singh.

He was charged with Level 1 (3) offence for showing misconduct to the umpires. If proved guilty, he will be slapped a fine.
